AI raises the price of PM judgment, not artifacts

Saurabh Singh, writing for Vibe Engines, argues that AI does not threaten the product manager role so much as strip out the parts that were always clerical: drafting PRDs, synthesizing research, writing status updates. What's left, he says, is judgment, plus three new duties AI products create by themselves, which he calls evals literacy, unit-economics awareness, and agent UX design. His strongest claim is that "a feature whose quality no one can measure cannot be responsibly shipped", which puts defining acceptance bars on the PM rather than engineering.
