Evogene, Tel Aviv University link AI drug design to lab testing

Evogene, an Israeli computational chemistry company, and Tel Aviv University's Blavatnik Center for Drug Discovery have announced a joint initiative pairing Evogene's ChemPass AI generative chemistry engine with the center's experimental infrastructure, aimed at moving academic discoveries of disease targets toward drug candidates. Ofer Haviv, Evogene's CEO, frames the deal as widening the company's pipeline; Leah Klapper, the center's managing director, frames it as closing the gap between lab science and therapeutics. Neither statement names a project, target, or timeline, and the release offers no criteria for how programs will be selected or funded. What exists so far is a framework for future collaboration, not evidence that it will produce a drug candidate.
